Preschool Already?!

Our big boy has started preschool!  He's has joined an "Early Three's" class.  They are all turning 3 between September 1st and December 31st.  He goes 2 days a week for 2 hours.  He LOVES it! In fact, when I picked him up yesterday, his teacher said he had started crying when they started packing up to leave.  He was sad that it was over.  He wakes up in the mornings and asks "We go to school today Mama?"

At Meet the Teacher Night he had to color a picture to hang in his classroom.

On his first day, they made matching bags that they carry to school each day.  It has his hand print on it.
We are very pleased so far with how preschool is going for him.  Our big boy is growing up!!

29 Again!!

I had my 4th 29th birthday last month!  I tell you what... 29 gets better every year!  I truly had an amazing birthday spent with my 4 loves.  I was showered with gifts when I woke up... a Keurig, a Panini Press, some new pj's, and a home made crustless New York style cheesecake!  Kirk got up at the crack of dawn and slaved away in the kitchen on my requested birthday cake.  It was absolutely perfect!

I hope my next 29th is this good!

Summer Visit from Maw Maw and Pops

Kirk's parents, Maw Maw and Pops, came to visit at the end of August.  We really enjoyed their visit.  We had an early birthday celebration for Kirk and me.  The kids soaked up as much attention as they could from Maw Maw and Pops.  And we spent a lot of time in the back yard.

Yay!! Maw Maw and Pops are here!

Kaleb had Pops on the floor having a "sleepover" with him right away!

Our birthday cake!  All of those candles are for Kirk's old age... not mine!

Kaleb helped me open my birthday gift.

Thanks for coming to see us!!

This is typical when trying to get a picture of these 3!

We're ready for Maw Maw and Pops to come back in just a few weeks!!

7 Months Old!

On August 23rd, Emery and Oliver turned 7 months old!!

August 23, 2013
At 7 months old...

*They were both in 6 month clothes.
*Both were wearing size 3 diapers.
*They were both sitting up unassisted.
*Both were army crawling and rocking on hands and knees.
*They were still nursing every 3 hours and eating 3 solid meals a day.

We love these two and their big brother more than words can say!

Summer Visit from Maw Maw and Paw Paw

At the beginning of August, Kirk had to go to Orlando for work.  My parents came and stayed with us for the week to help me with the kids while Kirk was gone.  We had a little "staycation" while they were here and took Kaleb to all of the fun places around town.  It was nice to have such a long visit with Maw Maw and Paw Paw.  I wish we could do it more often.

Our first outing was to Tanganyika Wildlife Park.  It is a small family run zoo here in Wichita.  We went on a rainy day and basically had the park to ourselves.  There were only about 4 other families there.  There was a light misty rain, but not even enough to get us wet.  This zoo is very interactive.  Kaleb was able to feed a giraffe, the rhino, lorakeets, and lemurs.  He was also able to pet the kangaroos.  Our favorite exhibit was the lemurs.  There were several babies, and they all climb all over you when you sit down with them!  This was our best outing that week for sure!

Kaleb feeding the giraffe!

Feeding the rhino. Kaleb laughed and said, "He liked it!"

He wasn't so sure about the birds crawling all over him.

He kept poking the kangaroos and telling them to hop.

Lemurs... these are the SWEETEST little animals!

Those are baby twins!  They would sit on your shoulder and cry in your ear... so sweet!

Our next outing was back to Three Dollar Thursday at Botanica.  It was much easier to explore the children's garden with Kaleb while my parents took care of the babies.

More crafts in the little red barn

Exploring the huge tree fort with Paw Paw

When Kirk was back in town, he and Paw Paw took Kaleb to the train museum downtown that we've never been to.  They said the inside was not so fun for kids, but Kaleb had a blast playing on the trains outside!

Of course, we had a lot of fun around the house with Maw Maw and Paw Paw too!

The last evening they were here, we went to the park and fed the turtles!

We are ready for another week long visit soon!!
