At the beginning of August, Kirk had to go to Orlando for work. My parents came and stayed with us for the week to help me with the kids while Kirk was gone. We had a little "staycation" while they were here and took Kaleb to all of the fun places around town. It was nice to have such a long visit with Maw Maw and Paw Paw. I wish we could do it more often.
Our first outing was to Tanganyika Wildlife Park. It is a small family run zoo here in Wichita. We went on a rainy day and basically had the park to ourselves. There were only about 4 other families there. There was a light misty rain, but not even enough to get us wet. This zoo is very interactive. Kaleb was able to feed a giraffe, the rhino, lorakeets, and lemurs. He was also able to pet the kangaroos. Our favorite exhibit was the lemurs. There were several babies, and they all climb all over you when you sit down with them! This was our best outing that week for sure!

| Kaleb feeding the giraffe! |
| Feeding the rhino. Kaleb laughed and said, "He liked it!" |
| He wasn't so sure about the birds crawling all over him. |
| He kept poking the kangaroos and telling them to hop. |
| Lemurs... these are the SWEETEST little animals! |
| Those are baby twins! They would sit on your shoulder and cry in your ear... so sweet! |
Our next outing was back to Three Dollar Thursday at Botanica. It was much easier to explore the children's garden with Kaleb while my parents took care of the babies.

| Coloring in the butterfly house |
| More crafts in the little red barn |
| Exploring the huge tree fort with Paw Paw |
When Kirk was back in town, he and Paw Paw took Kaleb to the train museum downtown that we've never been to. They said the inside was not so fun for kids, but Kaleb had a blast playing on the trains outside!
Of course, we had a lot of fun around the house with Maw Maw and Paw Paw too!
The last evening they were here, we went to the park and fed the turtles!
We are ready for another week long visit soon!!
