Kaleb's Birthday Week

Kaleb turned 3 years old in October!  We had quite the celebration for him over about 2 weeks!

Kirk's parents arrived a few days before his birthday party to spend time with all of us.  We took the kids to "Bootanica", a fall festival at the botanical gardens here in Wichita.  There were lots of arts and crafts, and Kaleb's favorite part was the scarecrow hunt through a very woodsy section of the park.  Otherwise, we spent time around the house with Maw Maw and Pops and enjoyed their company!

Thunderdog, Wichita's hockey mascot was there.  Kaleb walked right up to have a chat!

Scarecrow hunter... Kirk and Kaleb's fave!

All 3 of them zonked out on the car ride home and stayed that way until my parents got in town!

My parents arrived the day before the birthday party.  We gave Kaleb his birthday gift from us that afternoon - a new Cars bicycle!

Kaleb's first ride!

On Sunday, we had Kaleb's race car birthday party!  He loved every bit of that day.  The whole time we were setting up that morning, Kaleb was telling me "this is the best birthday party ever!"  He had most of his best buddies there, and they all had a blast!

I had race tracks and race cars on all of the kiddie tables.

All of our diaper boxes came in handy... race cars!

Off to the races!

Taking a break from bean bag toss

The kids painted (with markers) wooden race cars.

Loved how this cake turned out!! I did not make it... that is not a talent of mine!

More races!

This gift, a garbage truck, was quite a hit with the boys! Who knew?!

The day before Kaleb's birthday, he had his school birthday celebration.  I got to go to his classroom and bring birthday treats that day.  He was so excited to have me there for his birthday celebration!
Kaleb was the line leader on his special day.  I was there with his "party" set up when they came back from music class.

The birthday king!
Kirk had to go out of town for work the week of Kaleb's actual birthday, so my parents stayed with us for the week to help me with the kids.  We mostly enjoyed spending time with them at the house, but on Kaleb's birthday we took him to Color Me Mine for "Paint Me a Story."  They read him the book, "Clifford's Halloween," and he got to paint a Clifford piggy bank.  It turned out to be quite the masterpiece!

The finished project, before they fired it of course.

Maw Maw and Paw Paw brought Emery and Oliver new ride on toys... Minnie Mouse for Emery.

Jake and the Neverland Pirates for Oliver

Emery's famous model pose.  It is quite often you find her propped up on that elbow looking pretty!

Kisses for Paw Paw Elephant!
What a fun couple of weeks we had celebrating our big boy!  I can't wait to see what the next year brings for Kaleb!

Catching up!

I plan on getting the blog up to date before Christmas.  I'll start with a few pictures from October.  We had a big month with Kaleb's birthday, visits from both sets of grandparents, and Halloween.  Pictures from those events are on the way, but we'll start with these...

Emery started pulling up this month! She worked hard to get up on that hearth and was so thrilled at her new accomplishment!

Oliver was proud of her too!

We went to the farm for Matthew's birthday party this month... always fun to be had on the farm!

Birthday hugs for the 5 year old, Matthew!

Big girl playing her music and watching Lucy play in the backyard.

Taking a little stroll.

This was our date night at Kaleb's preschool.  The event was "If You Give a Mom a Muffin."  It was so fun and Kaleb was so excited to have me to himself!
