Weekend Guests

The first weekend of December Kirk and our friend Levi went hunting up on Levi's family's land.  So Levi's wife Jenifer and their little ones, Lily and Matthew, came to spend the weekend with Kaleb and I.  (They used to live in Wichita, but moved to Topeka at the beginning of this year.)  They were here to babysit the prego, but also to spend some quality time with us. 

We  had our friend Kathy and her kiddos, Jackson and Ethan, over Friday evening for pizza and Ice Cream cone Christmas tree decorating.  Unfortunately, Matthew was not feeling very well, but the rest of the kids had a great time decorating and eating their trees!

The next morning, Jenifer and I took Kaleb, Matthew, and Lily to the Good Will Industries Festival of Trees at Century II.  It was a great event with lots for the kids to do at the "Reindeer Romp."  We even got to visit with Santa!

Kaleb loved Santa when he was sitting in his stroller but would not sit in his lap.  What a great idea to have Mrs. Claus there... kids always trust a woman better.  He climbed right in her lap but a smile was too much to ask!

Lily was more trusting of Mrs. Claus too, but we also couldn't get much of a smile out of her.

The rest of the afternoon and evening we just let the kids play at the house.  They really enjoyed themselves, especially when their daddies came home that evening.  They had such a great time together.  It really made me excited for Kaleb to be getting a baby brother and sister.  He loved having playmates with him for the weekend.  He and Matthew were not happy when it was time for goodbye.  Kaleb asked for "my guys" and "My Maffew" for days after they left.

I promise I clean my windows... check out the handprints!  But seriously, I love this picture.  They laid there watching the dogs play outside the whole time we prepared dinner and giggled the whole time.

Pallet Party!

Matthew and Lily both have blankets that they are attached to.  Kaleb is not a blankie kind of kiddo, but I think he felt left out.  He started carrying around our huge red couch blanket and had to join Matthew on the floor with it for TV time before bed.

What a great weekend!! We were so sad to see them go, but look forward to another visit once Emery and Oliver arrive!
