We're Growing!!

We're Growing...

He's growing up... He'll be TWO in October and a big brother in February!

I'm growing...

11 weeks
13 weeks

They are growing...

That's right "THEY!" You're not seeing double... there's two of them!!  We're expecting twins February 11th and we couldn't be more excited!

We have made it through the first trimester, and I have to tell you... a twin pregnancy is twice as worrisome and twice as difficult.  At least for this Mommy it is!  We do have 13 weeks behind us, and at our appointment today, everything was sounding great.  We have two strong heartbeats, and I felt my first bit of baby movement a few days ago.  I can't wait to be able to really feel both of them kicking around in there.  And I really can't wait to find out their genders!  They are fraternal so it is possible that we could have a boy and a girl, which I have to say is what I'd like to have.  There's a good chance, however, with the Ring family history, that it is 2 boys.  As long as they are healthy, we will be happy!! We will have to wait until some time in September to find out!

There has been a lot of talk about "Big Boy" things in our house since we found out this big news.  We are going to try to have Kaleb potty trained before the babies arrive so that we don't have 3 in diapers.  He's still a bit young though so we'll see how that goes.  We are also busy decorating a big boy room... dinosaurs it will be!  I can't wait to post pics when we get his room done.  It's going to be part of his birthday present.  We'll do a big exciting reveal to motivate him to be a big boy in a big boy bed.

What else have we been up to this summer?  Hiding from the brutal heat and trying to have a little fun for Kaleb in the process.

Feeding the turtles at Chisolm Creek Park by our house.

Lots of turtles!

Practicing our diaper skills.

Mickey is constantly needing a clean diaper!

Hanging with our friends... Jackson, Kaleb, Ethan, Matthew, and Lily.

Ready for Toddler Time at the Y Pool!

Now I'm off to bake these 2 buns in the oven!!

4th of July

We had a pretty low key 4th of July this year, and it was perfect!  Kaleb enjoyed some time in his new pirate pool my parents gave him.  Then we had some of our neighbors over for an easy dinner, we let the kids play in the backyard, and we enjoyed some fireworks out front until dark.  Last year, Kaleb was TERRIFIED of the fireworks, so I wasn't sure exactly how it would go for us, but he did fabulous.  He was just comfortable enough with them to watch from a distance.  I didn't have to worry about him getting brave enough to run up and try to grab anything or get too close.
Thanks Mawmaw & Pawpaw for my new pirate pool!  Or as Kaleb said... alot.... in true pirate fashion "Whoa-ho!"

Practicing kicking our legs.

Kaleb's playmates, our sweet neighbors, Michaela, Dimitri, and Chiara.

Watching the fireworks with Daddy!

Firework time!

Sparklers...

And more sparklers!

Summer Vacation

In June, we took a two week vacation to Mississippi to visit our families.  We had such a great time.  Kaleb got in quality cousin time and thoroughly enjoyed all of the attention and new adventures he experienced!  I'm going to let the pictures tell our story.

The first six days were spent in Vicksburg with Kirk's family.  Cousin Charlie came to stay the week with us too.  Kaleb adores "Cha-chee" and had such a good time trying to keep up with him.  Probably the most fun they had was at the splash pad down by the river in Vicksburg.  Unfortunately, I forgot my camera that day.  I got some great pictures on my phone, but can't seem to get them to upload.

Playing a little cornhole!
Chasing Charlie around the tree...
We had dinner with our friends Jamie and Michelle... their son, Jackson, shared his toys with Kaleb!
Blowing bubbles!

This is one of my favorite pictures of the two of them!
Hugs!  So sweet!!

We spent the second week down on the coast, out in the country, with my parents!  Kaleb embraced country living immediately.  My niece, Kamille, taught Kaleb right away that clothing is underrated.  They spent most of the week naked... so I don't have a whole lot of pics of them.  I did manage to get a few before the diapers came off though!  We also had a fish fry with my family one evening, but I'm waiting on my cousin to send the pictures... hopefully I can update with a few of them soon!

First thing Kaleb did after dinner our first day there was drag Pawpaw outside for a car ride!

Arrington spent Sunday afternoon with Kaleb and my parents while her mommy and I went to the dance recital.

I had a great time catching up with these ladies.  I miss my dance family like crazy!!
Kaleb and Molly Michael reading with Mawmaw (great grandma)!

Kirk brought Kaleb and Gavin (my nephew) fishing in the pond at my parents' house.  According to Gavin, they caught 29 VERY large fish!!
Fishing with Daddy
Pawpaw has a big job of cutting all of that grass... glad he had a little helper!!
Kaleb and Kamille swimming... the only picture I have of the two of them together and still.  All of my pics of them are either blurry or not clothed.

We are so glad Aunt Azlyn, Uncle Adam, and our girlfriend, Arrington, moved to OS!  Now we get to visit them at their new house when we are on the coast!!

Pooped from fun at Aunt Azlyn's!

My friend Erin brought her kids Molly and Elliot over to play one evening.  Elliot and Kaleb are just a few weeks apart.
We spent the last weekend of our trip in Hattiesburg for Kirk's cousin, Jay's wedding.  Congratulations Jay and Cynthia!

Our attempt at a picture of Kirk's parents, Mawmaw & Pops with all of the grandchildren.

Uncle Charlie, Kaleb, and Daddy at the rehearsal dinner!
The Jones' family in it's entirety!  Can't believe we all fit in one photo.  Try to count the babies and little kids... it made for a pretty rowdy bunch!
Kaleb and his cousin Seth playing peek-a-boo at the reception.

Our attempt at a family pic.
We are back in hot Wichita now... You can't play outside unless water is involved, and as I've said before, Kaleb LOVES "botter, botter!"

Soaking wet and loving it!

Playing in the hose with Daddy!

Kaleb was pretty happy to be re-united with his toys and room, but he misses his MS Family!
And we miss them too!!

Happy Memorial Day!

I know I'm a little late, but Happy Memorial Day!  A special thank you to all of those who serve and a special remembrance of those who have given their life for our freedom!  We had a very relaxing memorial day weekend.  We had a cookout with neighbors, we relaxed some at home together, and on Memorial Day we had a picnic at the Sedgwick County Park playground.

Kaleb was not real happy about his daddy taking a nap... he tried his best to get him to play.  He just kept piling more toys on top of him.  If you know Kirk, you know he can sleep through anything.  This picture is proof... he didn't budge!

Kaleb going down the "pide!"

That bottom lip made a few appearances at the playground if he didn't get his way.  It seems to work on some, but this Mommy has become somewhat immune to it!

This guy was hard to get pictures of... Jackson had a great time exploring the playground!

Somehow we caught Jackson and Kaleb in the same spot at the same time... this is the best shot we could get of the two of them.

There's a great profile view of that lip!

This little fella might be the happiest little guy I know!  It was so hot out there, but Ethan kept that smile while waiting for his big brother and Kaleb to get done playing!
I have a few videos of Kaleb to share, but they are on Kirk's i-pod.  I hope to get them up this week!
